The binding is cut extra wide, sewn on using the continuous strip method and stretched on a canvas-covered wood frame -- the extra-wide binding fabric is wrapped to the back of the stretcher bars and secured. The wood frame is sturdy but lightweight, weighing about 4 pounds.
