War ‎♫ Deliver the Word ♫ 1973 United Artists Records Orig. Vinyl LP w/Insert

Description: Welcome to Classic Cadillac Records! My goal is to provide each and every customer with the best possible buying experience, no matter the size of the order. Unlike most sellers, I advertise all my items clearly and in as much detail as possible, without shouting at you in all caps. I take multiple high quality pictures and never use stock photos, so you know exactly what you’re buying. I take great pride in my work and go the extra mile, which can clearly be seen in my listings compared to other sellers that put minimal effort into theirs. I visually grade all my records as accurately as possible and will never grade anything above Near Mint unless it’s still sealed. Please note that a visual grade can differ from a play grade, and am happy to spot check a record upon request. All orders are shipped within 1 business day (usually sooner) and packed with extra care to ensure fast, safe arrival. I combine shipping on multiple orders to save you money and gladly ship worldwide. Please look closely at all pictures, read all relevant details and ask any questions you may have before buying. I offer a full 30-day return policy on everything I sell, so buy with confidence! And most importantly, thanks for looking!Deliver the WordStudio album by WarReleasedAugust 1973Recorded1973 at Crystal Industries & Wally Heider Studios, Los Angeles, California Caribou Studios, Nederland, ColoradoGenreR&BLength40:36LabelUnited Artists RecordsProducerJerry Goldstein, Lonnie Jordan, Howard ScottWar chronologyThe World Is a Ghetto (1972)Deliver the Word (1973)War Live (1974)Deliver the Word is the sixth album by War, released in 1973 on United Artists Records.ReceptionProfessional ratingsReview scoresSourceRatingAllmusicThe album featured two singles, "Gypsy Man" (severely truncated from the 11 minute album version) backed with "Deliver the Word" (US #8), and "Me and Baby Brother" backed with "In Your Eyes" (US #15). A live version of "Me and Baby Brother" had been released previously on All Day Music (1971). The title "H2Overture" is a pun on H2O, the chemical formula for water.A 4-channel surround sound (quadraphonic) mix was also released for the album in the 8-track tape format (United Artists UA-DA128-H), featuring a different track order, a reprise of "H2Overture" with early fade-out, and an early fade-out of "Gypsy Man".Cover artThe cover was printed using metallic silver ink on black, and the cover is textured, resembling black leather as used for the covers of Bibles (the album title being a phrase associated with the Bible). A die-cut window in the lower left corner reveals part of the innersleeve which shows a human figure walking along a deserted beach with his head bowed. The other side of the innersleeve shows the same picture, but mirror reversed, and tinted blue instead of orange. When the cover is inserted the other way around, the window reveals an empty beach with sunlight (which, in blue, looks like moonlight) reflecting off the water. The album design and photo is credited to Gary Sato, with Lee Oskar credited for cover concept.Track listingAll tracks composed by War (Papa Dee Allen, Harold Brown, B.B. Dickerson, Lonnie Jordan, Charles Miller, Lee Oskar, Howard E.
