I have taken it for 6-hour plus epic rides and it takes everything you can throw at it and more. Handles smooth as silk, as you’d expect from a handmade steel frame. The main reason I’m selling it is that I purchased a fat-tire bike and mostly hit the trails with that bike instead. This bike would also be an amazing gravel bike conversion project. All it needs is a drop handlebar and Shimano compatible 9-speed shifters. I’ve been tempted to do this myself but already have a gravel bike. As can be seen in the pictures, this bike has been ridden often and shows wear in the form of chips and scrapes in the frame paint. There are no dents. None of these scrapes appear to affect the structural integrity of the frame. As you are probably aware, a quality steel bike will outlast virtually any other frame material. The majority of the chips/scrapes are on the chainstays/seatstays and near the bottom bracket, although they are scattered throughout the frame. As a result, the previous owner attempted to repaint some affected areas with black paint. If you are competent in frame painting or interested in restoring a classic frame, this would be a great restoration project. The front fork performs well, but could probably be serviced for optimal use. As is, the bike functions as it should. I’ve taken into account the used condition of the frame, and the bike has been priced accordingly, with a sizable discount applied due to the condition of the frame paint and age of the components. If you don’t care about scrapes/chips, this is a bonus discount. You are unlikely to find a comparably priced Waterford!I go to great lengths to properly describe and photograph my listings, but if anything is less than crystal-clear please ask questions and I’ll get back to you asap. Additional pictures can also be posted if there is an area of interest that isn’t depicted to your liking.I’m a former bike mechanic, and will make sure the bike is professionally packed and shipped promptly once payment clears. Shipping calculated by eBay, not by me! If shipping is too high and you’d like to explore options for local pickup or BikeFlights, please reach out separately and alternate shipping rate will be calculated.
