Waverley Novels American First Edition 1834 Parkers Boston 37 Volumes 20 Books

Description: For your consideration is this partial set of Waverley Novels by Sir Walter Scott. As near as I can tell this is considered the first American edition, published by Samuel Parker in Boston in 1834. This lot contains 19 separate books containing 37 volumes. All but one, volume 47, are 2 volumes in one book. They measure 7 3/8 x 5". As you can see the leather bindings show wear throughout. As I write this, and some of them are very close, but for now all the boards are still attached although one book is taped.(see photos). That being said, the contents are basically tight and clean with varying levels of foxing as you might expect but no damage or lose pages. There are some light pencil scribbles on 3 title pages.
