Description: This vintage Webster-Chicago tube wire recorder, model 80-1, is a rare find for collectors and enthusiasts of vintage audio and video equipment. Made in the United States, this unit is a one-of-a-kind piece that would make a great addition to any collection. The tube wire recorder is in excellent cosmetic shape but will probably need new tubes and recapped. I got as far as running the wire and watching the head articulate up and down smoothly and rewind the wire back into the spool. Initially there was a hum coming out of of the speaker and then I heard like a light bubbling sound and a little smoke started appearing - immediately unpowered it. It comes as shown with the power cable, microphone, and an output cable for an another microphone. Selling AS/IS for parts & No returns . Hope someone can fix it as it really is a beauty.
