These chests were often made on Hong Kong after WWII, but this chest is an earlier example. The sides are carved from a single thick piece of solid wood, which is especially noticeable from the interior side. It is dovetailed and has raised edges for a tight seal. The chest measures 28" long, 14" wide, and 14" tall. It is heavy for its size and in very good condition. There is some wear to the area where one leg meets the underside (see last two photos), in which a small screw was added. There is light surface wear, and normal aging. It is functional, and ready for another 100 years of use.
