Description: This beautiful cotton 1860's / 1870's red, teal green, and cheddar tulips quilt is hand appliqued and hand quilted, with a detailed vine border.It measures 90" X 92" and is in fair condition, with surface dirt and foxing / tanning in places, and fabric deterioration in some of the applique (mostly the red) and binding edge. The hand quilting is superb, with hand quilting around and within the applique and in close floral, grid, and straight line designs in the background, all at an even 9-10 stitches to the inch. The back is white, the hand stitched binding is green with red piping, and the batting is thin. You can see cotton seed residue inside when you hold the quilt up to the light.
