Description: Vintage Westmoreland Hen on Nest with hand painted red comb. Made of white milk glass in the 1950s.The Westmoreland Glass Company was known for its production of high-quality milk glass but went out of business in 1984, after a 63 year run. This piece has a small manufacturing defect on the side of the basket (bottom piece of the covered dish) (see photos). It looks like a possible chip, but the smooth finish over the affected area would be difficult to create with a break. If you look closely inside the dish you can see rings from when the molten glass was poured into the mold. 5.5” Long x 4.25” Wide x 4.5” Tall
