Description: New Photos! I got a new camera, and these photos are MUCH BETTER and the show the card as it is with realistic colors the same as I perceive them! No artificial camera toning and No Photoshop or other manipulation which is common for these cards! THIS IS THE LEAST EXPENSIVE OF ALL THE LISTING FOR THIS CARD FROM THE 1969 SERIES HERE ON EBAY AND ON THE NET IN GENERAL, AS FAR AS I CAN FIND, AND THE CONDITION IS VERY GOOD TO EXCELLENT! **This listing is for 1ea. Botch Tape Collectable Card, which is the first of my collection of Topps Co. Inc., Wacky Packages Ads, Collectable Card/Perforated Stickers from the 1969 series that I collected when I was a boy, and I will be offering more of my collection for sale here on eBay in the coming days.** REGARDING THIS "Botch Tape" Wacky Products Ad: This card was was painted by Tom Sutton (1937 -2002, RIP), whose name comic book enthusiasts will likely recognize from his contributions to various Marvel comics and related endeavors, and of course his name comes up whenever folks discuss Vampirella. It is my understanding that these cards were conceptualized by Art Spiegelman and that Topps let him run with his creative ideas, this one being one of his most famous... As I recall, at least 2 of the Wacky Packages Ad cards were discontinued because manufacturers of the spoofed products sued Topps Inc. GRADE:To my eye, this card is VG/EX (PSA4 or SGC50) per this explanation from an official card grader site: "Corners on a VG/EX card will show wear and may have light creasing near the edge. Centering must be 80/20 or better. A light wrinkle or minor crease may be evident on the reverse of the card. More serious print issues and cards with wax or other stains will also fall into the VG/EX grade but never higher than that. SPECIFIC TO THIS CARD: This card does have minor creases in 2 places near the upper right corner of the reverse (but these are not visible from the front), and some very slight discoloration in several locations on the front on the white border (photos depict the actual color of the border and details of this card), in particular on the right front border and on the bottom front border, as shown on all front photos above. This and all of these cards are light tan on the back, reminiscent of very light #50 Kraft paper and the glue which came on the back has not been used. The cards were this way when I collected them some 50 years ago and they have been framed, until I took these photos, and are now in protective bags. The back of this card may be very slightly more tan today than it was when I collected it, due to age and acidity in the card stock they were printed on, not due to exposure to sunlight. Overall, this card is truly Very Good to Excellent (VG/EX), and one must use magnification or be VERY VERY CLOSE to see any of the MINOR ISSUES which I have carefully detailed and which can be seen with better detail in the photos. as they appear in person in the photos above. IN PERSON THIS CARD LOOKS GREAT and the MINOR IMPERFECTIONS ARE NOT VISIBLE ON THE FRONT UNLESS YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THEM. THE IMPERFECTIONS ON THE LEFT CORNER REVERSE ARE VISIBLE WHEN VIEWING THE BACK, AND THIS CARD WAS IMPERFECT WHEN I PURCHASED IT BACK IN LATE 1969 OR 1970, LIKELY FROM THE BULK BOX BEING DROPPED OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. What you see is what you get, 100%. This is a 100% AUTHENTIC WACKY PACKAGE ADS CARD THAT I COLLECTED WHEN I WAS A BOY, CIRCA LATE 1960s/1970. I tried to get any and all light creases and discolorations into the photos, and I was perhaps overly successful, but everybody who buys my products here on eBay swears by me, and it is because I am scrupulous with regard to any and all details, good bad or otherwise. FYI:I began collecting Wacky Package Ads in the late 1960s to early 1970s, when I was 10 or 12 years old. At that age I found that these cards made my friends laugh and or do a double take, pretty consistently - and they are still great conversation starters today! It is amazing that the entire collection has remained in good trading condition despite accompanying me during 50+ years of very hard living! Perhaps that is because they were framed and because I always hung them in my office or my man caves, which were and are never exposed to daylight :) If you collect Wacky Products Ad Cards, keep an eye out for my upcoming listings, the next of which will be Blecch Shampoo and Fertilizer, which I will have listed by tomorrow morning. I WILL SHIP THIS CARD PROMPTLY, BY USPS PRIORITY MAIL, packaged between stiffeners and in a sealed poly bag because this is a valuable Card and Priority Mail is automatically insured, which protects both buyer and seller during these interesting times! :) Thank you for checking out my listing here! If you want to know anything about this card or other Wacky Ad Cards from this series, message me and I will get back with you in less than 48 hours with real information and answers to your questions!
