This is an important feature of our cocktail smokers. We chose oak because this is the same type of wood whiskey barrels are made from for aging whiskey. When the wood chips in cocktail smokers are burned, some of the wood from the cocktail smoker itself can be burned. If it's oak, that's perfectly fine as the oak flavor and aroma naturally compliments the whiskey. If a cocktail smoker is made from pine, beach wood, or other types of wood it can have a very unpleasant taste and smell. Q: Does Aged and Charred glue multiple pieces of wood together to make the smoke lid? A: No. Our Smoke lids are made from a single piece of oak so we don't have to glue pieces together. It makes for a nicer-looking product and also avoids the smell and poor taste of glue. Q: Does this come with a torch?
