Description: TWO HUNDREDTH ANNIVERSARY EDITION ORNAMENT 1792-1992The first building stones for the White House were set in 1792.This ornament is 24k gold finish with a ceramic oval disk at the center.The artwork is taken from a lithograph of the North side of the White House after awatercolor by Augustus Kollner. The edges are engraved with "The White House" atthe top center, "200th Anniversary" at the bottom and 1792 and 1992 on the side panels.The reverse side has the text of the cornerstone as published in the press at the time it was laid in 1792.It reads: "The first stone of the President's House was laid the 13th day of October 1792,and in the seventeenth year of the Independence of the United States of America.George Washington, PresidentThomas Johnson, Doctor Stewart, Daniel Carroll, CommissionersJames Hoban, ArchitectColleen Williamson, Master MasonVivet Republica" Includes Vellum protecting sheet, dark green velveteen lined box with green ribbon.Box is cream colored with dark green artwork on the lid.
