Description: Russian White Movement , Museum copy CROSS Silvered cross of the form of St. George cross, hot white enamel with a black enamel centre Russian White Movement , Civil war Cross “ CROSS OF THE BRAVE“ Highest Degree (R 5) on original shoulder ribbon. (Museum copy cross) The Cross of the Brave of the highest degree was worn on a black shoulder ribbon with a gold border. The cross had crossed swords passing through the center with the handles down, there was no motto in the central medallion of the cross. The Cross was instituted by the white Ataman Bulak-Bulakhovich as a reward for military exploits. A cross made of white metal, in the form of the order of St. George the Victorious, was covered with white enamel and was worn on a wide black ribbon with a gold narrow border. In the center of the cross was fixed a medallion on oxidised silver in the form of a round laurel wreath,tied at the bottom with a ribbon; inside the wreath, a dead head was depicted above the crossed sword and torch. On the reverse side of the cross, the serial number of the recipient was engraved. Nickel/ Silver enamelled cross. There are crosses covered with a black/ white enamel. (There is a version according to which black enamel crosses were awarded to the widows of the dead Warriors.) Very Rare ( R 5 ). Material: Silvered bronze, hot white enamel ,black enamel centre, and connection ring, original black-gold shoulder ribbon ( 1 m. and 80 cm long / 71 in ).
