Description: WHITE STAR LINE - Titanic Era - Silver Plated NAPKIN RING circa 1911. The ring is in excellent condition at 113 years of age.It weighs 38g and is 4.4cm round - it stands 2.5cm in height. Made by Elkington Plate with a date mark I think is 1911. NOTE: The napkin is not included. The White Star Line (WSL), was a British shipping company founded in 1845. It rose to be one of the most prominent shipping lines in the world. It provided passenger services between the British Empire and the USA. While many other shipping lines focused primarily on speed, White Star branded their services by focusing more on providing comfortable passages for upper class travellers and immigrants. In 1934 was forced to merger with Cunard Line by the British Government and together they became CUNARD WHITE STAR LINE. WHITE STAR LINE was most famous for the sinking of the RMS TITANIC in 1912.
