Description: A piece of American history; this hay knife is marked "THE AMERICAN" "PATD SEPT 5 1899" "6LX" on one side and "18" on the other. I have cleaned the knife but some very minor surface rust remains. Handles are in poor condition. When I was cleaning this knife, I decided not to touch the wood on the handles. They are old, cracked, and different, meaning they do not match and one has been replaced. Perhaps you may want to replace them or leave them to as is. Would make a great conversation piece or addition to a man cave or country/farmhouse decor. The knife measures approximately 28 1/4" in totaL length.Blade is 2 1/2" at the widest point. Handles measure 4 1/2" in length. Weighs 4 lbs Any REASONABLE offers will be considered. I will combine shipping for multiple purchases that can be shipped together. Please examine ALL pictures carefully since I do NOT accept returns. Most of my items are found at many of the farms going out of business or retiring from farming. I will describe them to the best of my knowledge. If have any additional questions, please feel free to contact me. If, after you receive item, it does not meet your expectations, please contact me. Also worth mentioning, since many of my items are big and bulky, I do recycle/reuse/resize cardboard.
