Description: We have 3 of these NOS 338 caliber barrel blanks, marked SS 10 338 WIA (Lothar Walther), 24-1/4" in length and they have 6 flutes. tThe barrel is tapered with 13/16" muzzle end, 1-3/16" breach end. These were part of the liquidation of a gun smith shop we did a few years back. The former owner Glenn Ems and his son in-law Jerry Haskins along with several others at Daisy developed the actual .338 Lapua magnum cartridge and created two different models of sniper rifles for the military, in .338 Lapua magnum and .50 bmg. Glenn and Jerry built a lot of custom rifles and bought a lot of barrels from a variety of barrel manufacturers, that's what these were meant for. While I have most of the material and parts blueprints along with purchase records that remained after the sale I could not find the exact date of purchase probably bought through Brownell's like one other that was still in the sealed shipping tube.
