It was destroyed on the 13th of February, 1945. Its ruins have been a memorial and symbol of the peace movement and a sign of reconciliation. A worldwide initiative was begun in 1989 to rebuild the Frauenkirche. The Frauenkirche watches have been produced since 1991, and all of them incorporate a tiny original piece of Elbsandstein (Elbe sandstone) - sunk into the watch face - which was taken from the ruins of the Frauenkirche. This is a unique collector's watch with special character.
