A bright copy in rare DJ. Cherry Kearton, along with his brother Richard, was a British naturalist, one of the world's earliest wildlife photographers who developed new methods to photograph animals in the wild, and in 1895, published the first natural history book to be entirely illustrated with wild photographs. In this volume, he narrates of his travels in the wild, including Borneo, his first African trip, India & North America. He accompanies each chapter with numerous wildlife photographs, which are famed among naturalists. With an Introduction by Theodore Roosevelt. Condition: In very good condition, with wear commensurate with age. The binding is square and firm the extremities/corners a little bumped and worn; DJ is very good with minor loss to spine ends and the occasional nick/tear. The contents are complete bright and clean with just occasional light foxing throughout. See photos. Our Opinion: Superb wildlife book in excellent condition. Pioneer of early wildlife photography it contains many unique early pictures of Wildlife across the world. Rare to fine in this condition complete with the very rare DJ.
