Description: Will To Live by Alexander Tetenta Estimated delivery 3-12 business days Format Paperback Condition Brand New Description Words do matter, regardless of what some folks may want us to believe. After all, the Scriptures tell us that God created the world with the power of spoken words. As human, we often under-estimate the power of words, especially those with the possibility of bringing into existence that which otherwise would not be, or to reinforce destiny. That was how the biggest movement of change in recent history gained the kind of momentum required to turn the son of a single mother into the President of the United States of America. In other words, we can become a summation of our thought processes and a product of the words we speak. However, words without deeds cannot just be enough; because actions speak louder than words in most cases. That was how I found the right words to effectively summarize three books, by turning stories of adventure, trials and triumphs into a novel. Even at that, our collective Will To Live out our dreams and aspirations can be found represented in those tales of adventure; in those stories of how coincidence and spontaneity combine with optimism to produce a certain creative urge. For instance, such was the case one summer day when I opened a business account for my writing business with HSBC at their former branch on West Nile Street in Glasgow, and a keen account adviser, Callum, had asked me the following question; "so is this going to be a trilogy then?" "Yes", Id replied without thinking it through, except for the fact that a trilogy sounded like a better accomplishment than just two books. Yet, with hardly any new stories to write about, I could only hope through faith, whilst believing that a story would unfold as long as there is life and the will to live it. That is exactly what happened, and whilst words tend to bring wishes into being, the task ahead now involves utilising such an ability for our common good; with our general well-being at heart. Having worked hard for almost a decade to be part of the community where I was born, the man-made challenges I have faced so far have made it imperative that my pursuit of happiness shall take me to a new direction, in order to stand for something; not just against something. Whilst Im at it, there is now an opportunity to write this fourth book which I like to call a "Post-Script" of the trilogy; just as I am home; to live, to educate, to be educated, to work, and even to lead. For me, home has come to encompass the global village which has continued to expose how interconnected we have become. Author Biography My name is Alexander Tetenta. I was born in Scotland and grew up in Nigeria where my family originated. I hold a Politics degree from London Metropolitan University, and a Masters Degree in International Law from the University of Glasgow. After growing up in Nigeria, I since returned to Glasgow where my unique personal experiences came beautifully together in this Post-Script of my Trilogy. For me, growing up and attending school in Nigeria were both rewarding and punishing. I attended an elite Elementary School where as a bright kid; I was awarded the privilege of skipping the last grade to head straight for my secondary school education. Although my secondary school days were liberating, that period was marred with the struggles of a youngling grappling with the harsh realities of boarding school and the growing pains of having to cycle through six secondary schools within the span of about six years. After sitting for the University Entrance Exams in Nigeria, I came out with flying colours particularly in subjects of Government & Politics. I had my sights set on pursuing a degree in the Humanities and Social Sciences especially after reading some of my mothers notes on the topic, but my family had other prospects for me to become an engineer like my brother. In line with my familys expectations, I enrolled into a Pre-Science degree which was short-lived after a lengthy strike action. It was at this fateful juncture that I found the British High Commission, obtained my passport and left Nigeria. Since returning to the U.K, I have diligently studied and worked hard, travelled to interesting destinations around the world, and acquired many interesting and insightful experiences worthy of writing about. My Nigerian experiences could be found nicely written in When Mother Cries 1: Seed of Discontent; whilst many of my other insightful experiences since returning to the U.K and gaining some international experiences are contained in the Volume 2: To Redeem a Generation; as well as in When Mother Cries 3: Blessings of Tomorrow.
