Description: An original antique map of WILTSHIRE (Wiltoniae comitatus..) by Saxton & Kip. Published in Camden's Britannia in 1607, this is the 1610 (2nd edition of the map), with a circle added to the cruciform compass rose. The map is unmounted, unframed and uncoloured (as published). Its printed area is 360x280mm and the map features a scrolled title cartouche, mileage scale, map dividers and compass. This is one of the earliest printed maps of Wiltshire and shows in detail the county's towns, villages, rivers, hills, hundreds and estates. The map has good margins, is a clean and clear impression and is in excellent condition.
