The ambitious Keung wants to build a successful career, but finds himself working at a shady company. Chung's childhood dream was to become a police officer, but due to his weak physique he gets shuffled to traffic control. Wing wants to study music at Hong Kong University, but his girlfriend (Faye Wong) and her parents pressure him into medicine, a field he is completely unsuited for. Can the four youths find their ways again through friendship and music? It has been a childhood dream of Chung to join the police force but his physical performance is far from satisfactory, so he turns to conduct traffic control officer. However, his virtue is not appreciated. He quits and finds fulfillment fighting against corruption in the Commissioner's office and later helps to have Kueng's boss apprehended. Wing is a diligent and self-absorbed student. His goal is to be one of the chosen few at his college's Music Department but he is dissuaded from his girlfriend's father. He inhibits himself the passion to music and gets himself to study to become a doctor.
