"World Enough and Time"-Robert Penn Warren-1950-1st Print-Limited Edition #409

Description: Offered is the vintage book "World Enough and Time", written by Robert Penn Warren and published in 1950 by Random House in New York. This "romantic novel" is a stated limited edition first printing, number 409 of an unstated number of copies made "for presentation to the booksellers of America". Warren is the only person to have received Pulitzer prizes for both fiction and poetry and he was also named "Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress" in 1944, a position later renamed Poet Laureate. The book is approx. 8 1/2" x 5 5/8" and contains 512 pages. The book is in good condition. The gray hard cover has little wear but does have some browning, especially along the edges and at the top of the spine. There is also a brown area about 1" in diameter at the bottom of the spine. The gold words on the front and spine are still mostly bright. There is no cracking inside either the front or the back covers. The white endpapers have browned but are mostly clean. I see no missing or torn pages in the text, but there is a small (less than 1" long) tear along the outside edge of the first blank page. The pages are all well-attached to the binding and are clean and clear, but have browned. The last page of text and the last blank page have a fold line in the upper corner. I see no writing in the book except for the hand-written number 409 limited-edition book number.
