Description: This is a really nice letter home from U.S. Army soldier Sgt. Edmond B. Herr, Jr. sent to his father, Edmond Herr, in Lancaster, PA from the Pacific Theater. The covers have had their backs removed and are dated different than the letter of Nov. 10, 1943. In the letter, the son has drawn a hut but describes his living quarters as "plain ordinary tents," how they have watched older movies every night and asks for a scout knife. Cigars "are hard to get here," he also writes, and says they are using British money, and "it is our job to learn their system." Please read condition description, carefully examine photos and ask any questions before purchase. Thank you for looking. Please see Brown Vintage's other online sales for more militaria, Americana, and Star Wars toys and action figures.
