Description: ELIZABETHAN, PLATE NO. 45, 1550-1620 ADHand-colored silkscreen print on board from the WPA Costume Drawings Collection, a set of 150 drawings of period costumes of various cultures around the world, created by WPA artists in District 15 (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) of the Museum Extension Project. The outline of each drawing was silkscreened onto the board first, then the color was applied by a small army of artists. These prints were distributed on request and free of charge to schools across the US. (Please note: these prints measure 18" x 23", more than four times the size of most other prints (8-1/2" x 11") currently offered for sale.
