I purchased this system for our very large house, garages and basement BUT my family refused to get with the program and use the intercom, preferring to yell over and over again from far off lands to get my attention. We did notice that some of the reception in some of the rooms had poorer quality (more static interference) than other places (the garage was probably the worst reception). Bottom line was, I had (lazily, erroneously) set everything from the onset to the first option setting without testing the other options. We have a lot of interference from a million electronics and wi-fi that I did not take into account when we placed these initially. I would suggest hook up with a partner to be able to test the different channel options for each room in your particular situation as some of the channels can even correct for the static (which I did not know when I initially set it up). Set comes with only one box and set of instructions. The 6 units are all exactly the same and functioning, except that we have USB ports installed in most of our rooms, so one of the units only comes with the USB cable and no outlet plug adapter because I cannot find it! That unit can directly plug into any USB port if you have them installed in the wall like we do, or would require a replacement adapter. Realistic Customer Expectations= Customer Satisfaction... I am a junk dealer, not a chain retailer. Most of the items that I sell are vintage, used and loved- they are RARELY going to be perfect. You may consider something a problem that I have not even considered as a defect. So, please ask all pertinent questions prior to buying, read ALL of the descriptions and conditions and be sure to look at all of the photos.
