Description: WW1 (1916) French Map "METZ" (German Controlled Capital of the LORRAINE region) with a Battle of Verdun connection. It's a September 1916 printing (2/9/16) of a 1912 Revision, entitled "METZ" and it covers some of the area lost during the Franco-Prussian War and regained by the French in November 1918.Perhaps even more interesting is that on the Western side of the map is the some of the area (bottom left corner) where The BATTLE OF VERDUN was raging at the time of printing - including Fort Douaumont, Fort Vaux etc....(At the time of listing, I also have an original French 'Enemy Artillery' trench map for auction showing the final Battle positions at Verdun. Verdun itself is actually just off the left margin of both maps)The map has one tiny hole and its overall condition is excellent. Measures 85cm x 60cm.Will be shipped as per its existing fold lines. Please see my other WW1 (and WW2) maps - including British, French, German and US.(Ref F3) PLEASE NOTE - Following BREXIT, some items exported from the UK to EU countries may now incur import tariffs on arrival. This depends on the overall value of the item (or items) contained within the package. UK sellers are now required to display these details in the form of a Customs Declaration attached to the outside of the package. Such matters are beyond my control as the process is administered by the Customs Department of the destination country. With this in mind, please can all buyers from EU countries make themselves aware of how these changes may affect them when purchasing items from the UK. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
