Description: As pictured, 1st Battalion, Sixth MarinesOvercoat, size 3-L, with 1918-19 QM stamp, shoulder patch, rear belt, and one six-monthoverseas service stripe on left sleeve. OD wool lining NICE supple wool; warmest coat that I’ve ever worn. I am 5’11,” approx. 165 lbs. (40 Reg.) Fits well over a shirt, but with more layers/anything heavier, probably for a 38. Shoulders: 18 ½” Under arms: 20 ½” Length from top of collar (back): 50 ½” Since nothing this old is “perfect,” as you can see: there are loose threads around the button-holes better repair can be done to the inside shoulder/arm-hole area the one neck-hook (right side if you’re wearing it) has been re-inforced by dark thread to keep it in place there is wear to the neck area a button is lacking to secure a flap that connects at the bottom of the coat. a button is lacking on the right side to which the mouth-guard flap would attach (was there a need for this button since the flap already attaches to the other?). Tobacco odor present. Otherwise, looks great & if you are into this, you know more about it than I do, so ask away. Messages whose intention is to scold or lecture me as to its "real" value--usually some paltry amount which reflects the littleness of the sender, will be ignored. Thank you for looking!
