Description: A very nice example of a World War One Imperial German Army Infantryman's Brass Bi-Metal Belt Buckle found near Ypres and as worn in Trenches of the Western Front 1914-18 A smashing example of a surviving combat belt buckle as worn by an Enlisted Man or NCO in the Kaiser's Army and bearing the legend Gott Mit Uns (God is With Us) in the centre circle around the Kaiser's Crown. With a very good brass patina and a small amount of verdigris to the rear, there is a small dent to the Kaiser Crown to the front. However, but this doesn't detract from what is a cracking pre-war belt buckle formerly belonging to a WW-I German Infantryman, fighting on the Ypres Salient... Thanks for looking..!
