Description: Original WW2 (1941) "SECRET" GERMAN Map of DEFENCES in Eastern Europe. It's headed "GEHEIM" meaning SECRET and apparently relates to Romanian defences in an area of Hungary which exchanged hands many times between the two countries. The base sheet was printed in January 1941, with the possibility that the red overprinting was updated during a subsequent print run. A rare piece from the Eastern Front in great condition. Excess margins have apparently been trimmed at some point in its history. From a large collection recently sold off by Edinburgh University - hence ink stamping to margin. (Following both World Wars, the government distributed excess stocks of Allied maps, along with captured enemy examples, to various national institutions such as libraries, museums, universities etc.) Will be shipped as per its existing fold lines. Please see my other WW2 (and WW1) maps, documents, photos etc. PLEASE NOTE - Following BREXIT, items exported from the UK to EU countries may now incur import tariffs on arrival. This depends on the overall value of the item (or items) contained within the package. As a result, delivery times have been subject to delays. With this in mind, please can all buyers from EU countries make themselves aware of how these changes may affect them when purchasing items from the UK. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding. Seller's Ref - U6
