Description: WW2 (1943) RAF / ARMY map of ITALY entitled "BENEVENTO" (+SALERNO)". Produced in June 1943 ahead of the Allied Invasion of Italy which took place between 3rd - 16th September 1943. SALERNO was the main site of the Allied Invasion. In decent condition for its age and service use. The top margin had a clean slice which had been historically secured with a single piece of tape, causing some slight discolouration to the paper . I have carefully removed the old dried up tape and repaired it a second time using a specialist, clear acid-free (non-yellowing) archive restoration tape of the kind used by museums and libraries etc. This work has been carried out to the back of the map, and the area is shown in the last photo for your close inspection.
