Was used for the M1 rifle, M1903, M1 Carbine etc to hold small spare parts.This was made by the Shoe Form Company that before the war was making mannequins out of a new formed plastic. Larry Ruth featured these in his War Baby 3 book, page 1378. The plastic has some give to it, meaning not stiff or brittle. However please look over the picture carefully to see the condition of the box.Considering the age, this is relatively good shape. This item is from the collection/estate of the late Larry Ruth, who was the most in-depth researcher and prolific author of books on the production history of the U.S. .30 cal. carbines (War Baby! Vol's I-III). This e-bay account was started by his family to dispose of his large collection. Please look close at the pictures.
