Description: Original World War 2 Romanian Dog Tag found at Stalingrad near the airfield at PITOMNIK. It was found in dug outs in Avstriyskaya Balka. This is a real historical relic providing a fantastic opportunity for further research. Pitomnik airfield was the principal German airfield within the Stalingrad pocket and was the place of harrowing evacuation scenes at the end of the battle. Romanian Dog Tags are not easy to locate especially in such good condition. The tag is marked "Regiment Salaj" "Contingent 1937" "Matricola 3305". Photo of soldiers not Included - for reference only.
