Description: WW2 WWII British Australian 1907 Bayonet SMLE Lithgow With Mangrovite ScabbardPlease view all pics for condition. Shows wear from being used and from storage. This bayonet is unique- there’s still a bit of cosmoline on the hilt, but I can make out some of the markings. They indicate that it was made in January of 1943. The wood grips are marked “SALZ” which indicates Salzenger Sporting Goods of Sydney. The scabbard leather body is marked with “MANGROVITE ‘44.” The top of the scabbard is marked “OA” for Owens. There’s a bit of surface rust on the metal scabbard top and the button that secured the frog. There’s also a tiny bit on the end of the bayonet handle, but the release spring moves freely. Overall displays well. I have many more items listed, and I am able to combine shipping on most items. Measures: 23 5/8” Long If you have any questions feel free to ask.
