Description: WWI British Socket Bayonet Model 1876. The blade was polished bright when manufactured and was roughly 22" in length. The socket and elbow was usually blued when made. The 1876 Bayonet was designed to be used on their Martini Henry Rifle. This socket shows a little pitting and the blade shows signs of surface rust of which I believe could be cleaned up. The scabbard is in very good shape, complete but with a little oxidation on the metal fittings. There were several similar bayonets that the British manufactured but this is my best assessment.
