The serial number is #967675. This also comes with a metal scabbard. Victorinox, Elsener produced this bayonet from 1934-1949. It was located in the Schwyz Canton. Later runs have the "Victoria" marking on the ricasso. Waffenfabrik Neuhausen also manufactured these bayonets. Overall, this bayonet is in Good - Very Good condition, considering its age and history. The press catch is functional with stiff spring tension. Both the pommel and guard are securely fastened to the tang. They have scattered impact marks, oxidation, scrapes and scratches. Their finish is in the white. The rivets securely fasten the wood grip panels and have light scrapes. The grips have light compressions and draglines. The wood has started to darkened with age. The knife is straight with no signs of warpage. The blade's spine and sides have scrapes and a couple spots of discoloration. There are several nicks and dings on the blade's cutting edge. It appears to have its original factory edge. The tip is intact and comes to a sharp straight point. The finish is in the white. The right ricasso is marked "ELSENER SCHWYZ". The top of the guard is marked with the Swiss cross. The right side guard is marked with the serial number "967675". The metal scabbard is in Good - Very Good condition. The bayonet slides in and out correctly. The frog stud loop is securely attached. The leather tab is dried out and has some light creases. It is securely attached with a rivet. The mouth, body and finial have light scrapes and oxidation. Parts of the finish still remain and have started to turn a darker gray patina color. There is a marking on the throat piece is marked "P". The finial has a Swiss cross. This bayonet and scabbard will be a great addition to your Swiss M1931 rifle, or a bayonet collection in general.
