Description: WWI Era US Army AEF M1907 Leather Sling for the M1903 Springfield Rifle - Original - Dated 1918 - NICE Condition Up for sale is a WWI Era US Army AEF M1907 Leather Sling for the M1903 Springfield Rifle. The sling has the both leather keepers. It has the correct brass hooks. The brass hook on the shorter sling section has had the ends filed down, see photos. The leather is soft and supple. There is some wrinkling and minor surface cracks in the leather. There is remnants of the manufacturer markings and a 1918 date on the sling, see photos. Please see photos for details and condition. This will make a great display sling on your WWI Vintage US Rifle. NOTE: this sling is being sold as a collector display sling and is not intended for actual usage. Vintage leather slings that are 105+ years old will not be as strong as they were when they are new. Putting this sling to actual usage to carry the weight of the rifle, may cause the leather to break. This item is being sold AS IS, NO returns will be accepted.
