This 81st cover depicts the 50th Anniversary of the Marine Assault on Peleliu Island on September 15, 1944. The cover is double cancelled and the red cancellation is from Majuro proper on September 15, 1994, 50 years after the assault. The cover bears one 29 cent “U.S. Marines Land on Peleliu 1944” stamp. The cover is signed by Sailass Andrike, Director of Post for the Republic of the Marshall Islands. The creator of the cover is also a member of the American Philatelic Society.
