Description: WWII Era US Army M3 Trench Knife Blade Marked - Sanitized by removing the markings - w/3rd Pattern US M8 Scabbard - Very NICE ConditionUp for sale is a WWII Era US Army M3 Trench Knife w/3rd Pattern US M8 Scabbard. This is a blade marked version of this knife. The knife has been sanitized by having the markings removed. The flaming bomb on the pommel has been "peened over". The knife was blade marked. The side of the blade has been surface ground to remove the markings. All that is still visible is a partial "U" from the US M3 markings. Please see photos. No nicks or chips in the blade. Minor finish wear on the blade. No rust or pitting on the blade. There is no evidence of excessive sharping of the blade. It has a stacked leather washer handle. The leather handle has some minor nicks and the normal handling marks, see photos. There is a piece of one of the washers missing, see photo. The guard and pommel are both tight. The pommel has the flaming bomb proof mark, which has been "peened". The scabbard is a 3rd pattern US M8 scabbard, with the belt hook. The scabbard is marked: US M8 over B.M. Co.
