Description: This is an original Canadian WWII poster "Don't Depend on Hara-Kiri - Let's Finish The Job" by H. Aslin. The poster is from the year 1945 and measures 24 x 36 inches and including the linen backing it is measures 28 x 40 inches. This poster is encouraging citizens to continue the war against Japan. Hitler has been defeated and is shown as a mounted hunting trophy, but Japan must still be defeated to win the war. Relying on the Japanese to practice "Hara-kiri," or ritual suicide, as a means to end the war, instead of surrendering, will not be enough to claim victory. This poster is extremely rare and was only available for 3 months between the time Germany surrendered in May 1945 and Japan surrendered in August 1945. I have looked for this poster and have not seen it anywhere. This poster is in great condition and has been professionally linen backed. There is some minor fold line wear, minor marks, and general wear. Please see all photos for the condition as the photos are part of the description. This poster will be carefully packed and shipped to locations in the United States. Please contact me if you have any questions.
