Akitsuga, the first-generation potter, created highly sought-after pots, some now 6 decades old. His son, Sadamitsu Kataoka (Koshosen), the second generation, surpassed his father in diversity, construction, quality, and value. Toshio Kataoka, the third generation, led the kiln until its closure in 2011. Despite distinct styles, all Yamaaki pots boast good quality and usability.
