Description: Yamaha CD-X1. Working condition. This is one of the first CD players ever made. It has an inherent defect in that it only plays certain CDs. It will not play every CD. It is VERY selective. If it CAN play a certain CD, then it will play it every time. But if it can't play it at first, then it just won't play that particular CD ever. I'm fairly certain that every one of these CD-X1 units will perform the exact same and have the exact same performance issues when it comes to which CDs will play and which will not. I've tested it on many CDs from the 80's, 90's, and 2000's. It has played all types of CDs from different Publisher/MFG's. I'd say it probably plays around 50% of my entire library. If this is unacceptable to you, then please do not purchase this item. This cd player is, of course, a really nice show piece. The sound quality is also very good. Certainly a nice addition to your collection by having one of the first CD players ever made. Will be carefully packed and shipped via FedEx or UPS. Thanks.
