Yasumasa Morimura (born 1951), one of Japan's leading contemporary artists, has been influential in the art world with significant achievements such as exhibiting at the Venice Biennale and receiving the Order of the Purple Ribbon. Since his high school days, Morimura has been inspired by encountering new expressions through art books, replicating the styles of artists and creating drawings and paintings. In this exhibition, works by 38 renowned figures in the history of Japanese contemporary art, including Taro Okamoto, Harumi Ogawa, and Atsuko Tanaka, who influenced Morimura in his youth, are displayed from the collection of the Takamatsu City Museum of Art. Additionally, works by 13 Western artists, such as Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns, Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, and Albrecht Dürer, are presented, totaling 51 artists. The exhibition features paintings, photographs, sculptures, and sketches created by Morimura, often replicating the styles of these artists. These works are displayed alongside Morimura's own commentary, allowing the intersection of the "art history" created by these artists and Morimura's "personal art history" to unfold. 【Packaging Method for Shipping Posters】・The rolled poster is placed in an OPP bag.・The sides are protected with cushioning material to prevent wrinkles or damage.・The poster is then placed in a sturdy cardboard tube.
