Description: My Little Nibbles™ Learn to Read Program is designed by a parent for parents to take advantage of any of the various five minutes of "free time" available out of every day to teach their own child to read. The program is based on the idea that humans learn best by progressive revelation in small increments, i.e., "little nibbles." A foundation for reading is laid down by interconnecting the core functions between sight (reading a word), sound (hearing a word), speech (saying a word), and finally, what the word seen, heard, or spoken means. It is a process of constructing actual brain pathways. There are ten "little nibbles", or chapters, that give parents simple instructions for teaching their child the following:1. To Recite the Alphabet2. To Say the Sound of Each Letter3. To Recognize the Sight of Each Letter4. To Combine Two Letter Sounds5. To Add a Beginning Letter6. To Read Simple Sentences7. Alternate Letter Styles8. More Three Letter Combinations9. Four Letter Combinations10. The Long Vowel SoundEvery material thing needed to teach a 4 to 6 year-old to read is in the wire bound book. When a child is led through the steps, each in its own order, and not rushed, but allowed time for each new piece to settle in, the groundwork is laid for the child to build upon it by his or her own initiative. Five minutes a day is not just to fit a busy schedule, but also to give the child's brain a chance to assimilate each day's new information. The rewards will last a lifetime. Reviews A very happy little boyMy son enjoyed this program, mostly because we spent only five minutes a day doing the lessons. My son was five almost six when we started using the program, and we had been through several reading programs that just did not work for him. We were both frustrated. I was afraid to try any more programs because he was getting so discouraged. But after the first couple of times using My Little Nibbles, he would run and get the book when I said it was time to practice reading.I would recommend this program to anyone who is trying to teach a child to read. The program also fits in well with a busy homeschool family's schedule. My Little Nibbles is affordable and complete, and it has made my son a very happy little boy. So if you are looking for a program to teach reading, check it out.Product review by Judy Wales (and Roger Jr.) --The OldSchoolhouse Magazine, LLC, December 2007 Your name was on the list!I wanted to send a quick email your way letting you know that we are gearing up to publish our "Best Homeschool Curriculum &Resources List of 2019" and you've been nominated by multiple homeschoolers! We have over 150,000 homeschoolers who have registered on our site and every quarter we send them an email asking them what products they love and which companies they think we should work with.Your name was on the list!Jessica, HowToHomeschool Online Magazine, April 2019 I taught all three of my kidsWhen I first found My Little Nibbles I was trying to teach my preschooler to read. We had covered all the basic letters, phonograms, and blends. Only, she drew a blank stringing them together. We found My Little Nibbles and went from not being able to string sounds together to picking up books to read on her own in three days time. This reading course was how I taught all three of my kids to read and I am now looking forward to teaching a new generation reading. After my remarkable experience teaching my preschooler, any time someone would mention a child struggling to read I knew to recommend My Little Nibbles Reading Course. I preached the value of your course to every mom near Abilene. Many kids around my neighborhood used your course. I love it. I believe in it. If you had door to door salesmen I'd become one! This is a solid course. Every child should learn to read like this! Thank you so much for making this "tear free", fun way to teach a child to read and open up their whole world!Annika B., Abilene, TX, March 2023 Some of my earliest memoriesSome of my earliest memories are of my mom teaching me to read with My Little Nibbles reading course.
