Zeiss Ikon Contax D 35mm film camera with USSR Helios 58mm f/2.0 lens

Description: For sale: Zeiss Ikon Contax D 35mm film camera with USSR Helios 58mm f/2.0 lens. The camera body is in good condition considering its age. Comes with the take-up spool, which is often missing on these cameras. The shutter seems to work on the high speeds BUT on the slow speeds, the first curtain hangs thereby blocking part of the film gate. The speeds are not guaranteed due to the 70 year age. The curtains have been patched with liquid electrical tape, no pin holes. The USSR Helios lens is in rough condition but still makes a pleasing image. Please view the photos for the condition. If you are not familiar with the Contax D series cameras please read up on them, they are rather interesting. Everything on this camera is manual, no light meter, you must manually stop down the lens to the shooting aperture before taking the picture, manually wind the film to the next frame. The mirror is NOT instant return. All the modern features of a 1952 camera. Very Art-Deco styling, the view screen is very simple, a plain ground glass with a bevel edge.
